Sometimes you need to use a tight fitting washer to the mandrel between the head of the rivet and the gun. Sometimes the opening on the gun is too large for the locking ring on the cherry max, the washer fixes that.

Thanks! For some reason I had it stuck in my head that you needed CherryMax tooling. I will order some and try it out on scrap to verify first.

Cherrymax do not need a special puller, they can be pulled with a pop rivet puller.

Where to buy "oops" rivets?

Post by blueisthenewblack »

Hey folks,

I've managed to drill a slightly oversized hole. Does anyone know of a good source for an "oversized" 1/8" blind rivet, or even a 5/32" blind rivet? I haven't had luck finding blind rivets of these sizes yet. I found oversized CherryMax rivets, but I don't have a CherryMax puller. My best option at this point seems to be a 5/32" solid rivet.

Thanks,
Stephen
