We were able to stop by Greg (Pix) Pixley’s house this weekend on the gulf coast of Florida. We dropped off his engine mount and cowling for his Franklin engine and got a chance to look at his fuselage. His wings, fuel tanks and engine are at his hanger a few miles north west. This is a sure testament that the Panther is versatile enough to build in your garage, and then assemble when you are ready. Here are a few shots of how Pix has made his build his own.
Pix is building his Panther in his garage at his very nice home in a golf community in Niceville, FL. This is a true testament that any builder with a little bit of space, that he can work through the Panther build and make progress in his spare time. Have a full time job? No problem! Have a yard to cut … no issues here! Only have a few hours a week? No problemo! Don’t have time to drive to the hangar to work on it? So what! Just go out for an hour or so, in your garage/workshop/spare bedroom! You can make progress in little ways. You know how to eat an elephant – right? One little bite at a time!
Pix works around all of the “life gets in the way” excuses by keeping the project close to home, and works in spurts when time permits. He has his wings, fuel tanks, rear fuselage and empenage all complete. He is finishing up the forward fuselage and will begin the Franklin engine install shortly.
Pix made an air vent mount and USB charging port that blends nicely with the instrument panel.
Pix is making great progress, one step at a time in the comfort of his own home. This could be you!
Great job, Pix! Great to visit with you and see your progress. Looking forward to engine installation updates regarding the Franklin.
