Re: Panther Sport
Just a reminder that the counterweighted elevators increase Vne from 200 to 220 mph. They also add several pounds of lead just about as far aft as you could put it. That's great for all those of you that will be using boat anchors for power

Re: Panther Sport
As Tony mentioned the attaching holes are on all new elevator joiners. The attaching arms and weights have been designed, and will be tested on my aircraft to confirm fit and full deflection of the elevator.

Re: Panther Sport
Adam,
The Sport elevator counterweights attach to the elevator joiner/horn weldments. No change to the elevators required. Far as I know it's a done deal.

Re: Panther Sport
I know Dan had mentioned the possibility of a balanced tail/elevator before but I haven't heard any updates on it ? Wondering if that is something ya'll are still planning to implement ?Davevon wrote:Hi All,

Is it getting close? Will the prototype have the new counter balanced elevator?
Will it be around for the Fly-In on Saturday?
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Panther Sport
No major differences from the one flying. Just small prototype changes that make more sense the next go around. The engine attach points may be different. I will have to defer to the designer for that one.

Re: Panther Sport
Is it a different frame from the airplane currently flying? Beefier? Different engine mount attach points?

Re: Panther Sport
The panther sport is waiting on the welded fuselage. So no - not available on Saturday. Most likely 4-6 mos out.
