I followed Tony Spicer's technique for this, including hole punching:

I made the 1/16th inch spacer out of a small 16 gauge steel sheet that I got from Home Depot. 16 gauge steel is approx. 1/16th of an inch:

Rudder Hinge 1/16th offset

I am ready to drill the hinge to the rudder and am wondering what everyone is doing to unsure the 1/16th offset on the hinge to side skin as shown in the plans.
