I've been messing around trying some of the 3M vinyl products and they seem to work really well (compound curves may be to tuff for me though). So far I am going with them on the inside of the cockpit, floor, sides, and panel. I did the whole belly sheet and trimmed areas where the cage mates to it just because I didn't want the vinyl between the structures. I think the vinyl may be more resistant to scratches and dings from the belts and other potential FOD in the cockpit.
You can see the floor board and panel in my picasa:

I let the aerolife sealant "goop" out a bit when the belly went on so that is what you see and not the vinyl edges... you can't tell that it is not a perfect silver paint job on the floorboard and the panel is carbon fiber wrap (which is a tad thicker than the other colors).

Tony,
Looking forward to seeing the brackets. I love the paint scheme. Can't wait to see what the painted cowl looks like mounted on the airplane.

With the wing tips already mounted, how were your wings painted? I have seen fancy wing rigs that can rotate, but usually this is done with the wing tips off and a support in place. Were your wings painted while mounted to the fuselage?
Glen,
They were hung by the trailing edge. Will get a photo of the brackets I made. New Picasa album with a few paint details:

Trim was done with wings flat on horses.

If they were your's, you'll have 2 destroyed airplanes and no more excuses not to build a Panther.
