Considering the number of students in my area I think lighting lighting is really important to help them see me. Flyleds seemed to offer a really nice solution: LED position, strobe and landing lights with wigwag, all in a wing tip module. The problem is they were designed for the RV7, 8, 9 and 10 wing tips, using the stock RV wing tip lens. The RV-10 lens seemed somewhat close to the Panther wing tip so I thought reshaping it to the Panther tip might work. I ruined one lens figuring out how to do it but I ended up with two, not perfect, but not bad lenses (I'd never worked with acrylic before). The rest involved cutting out the wing tip, molding a shoulder to mount the lens, adding partitions to attach the Flyleds boards, adding a fairing on the vertical stab tip for the tail light and making it all fit together. They didn't turn out bad at all. Here's a photo log of what I did:
