Hi all. Just wondering if there's any realistic prospect of the Panther getting LAA approval. I'm considering buying my first homebuilt and the Panther is on the short list but I don't want to cut my teeth on a first-of-type in the UK.

Thanks,

Skip

Hi

I spoke to Francis at the LAA Rally last week and he suggested that we ought to talk about the Panther again. I'm unsure as to what that might mean though - perhaps we could chat this through (particularly given your experience with the 14). I am out of the country for most of this week - if you let me have a number I can call you next week sometime?

Thanks

Ian

As its been a year, thought I would chime in - any updates on LAA approval?

This would make a great second project once our RV-14 is completed.

Had a good chat with Francis last week - if any Brits haven't seen this yet, take a look at the LAA newsletter, and if you are interested get in touch with LAA Engineering.

A happy new year to all panther enthusiasts. Hoping 2015 will be a good year for us Brits and starting a build.

The number of potential builders for Panther kits in the UK (or what might be left of it.... ) suggested by this thread is starting to look like a container load, Dan. I am sure we all hope this gives you an incentive when you deal with Francis. Good luck!

Another Brit here! Have engaged with Francis and understand it is in the hands of Dan to get ball rolling. My build buddy also met Dan & team at Oshkosh....ready and waiting with cheque book.....cannot wait.

Good luck Dan, anything I can do please let me or us group of Brits know!

Hi Guys
Hope things are well for the UK group.
We are getting closer to sending Francis what he needs to get started. We have two "plugs" for Composite parts, they "universal" cowl and the canopy skirt. After these are finished I will be wrapping up the build documentation.
We have a few small welded parts to tool up for, mainly wing fold pylons and push rod tubes. when these task are finished I will forward Francis the basic plans and BM ,as well as aerodynamic information. I will send some basic structural and testing info as well. This will get the ball rolling and he will let us know how detailed of information we will need to provide, at that point I will decide if we will take on the process , or if we will be looking for some other entity to move forward.
Thanks for the interest, feel free to ask any questions
