Have taken the EAA workshop on sheet metal construction and it is directly applicable to building a Panther. I would recommend it. The electronics/wiring/avionics class too.

The eaa classes are recommended for first time builders. Anything with drilling, deburring, and handling aluminum sheets is good. There are few solid rivets, and they can be squeezed, so any courses about bucking rivets while informative and good to know, is not necessary. Zenith and Sonex aircraft have similar construction techniques and would be good.
The more you know about using any building materials, and techniques will help in the end.

While I lurk waiting for the Cougar I'm curious if you folks thought the
http://zenithair.com/workshop.htm or the
https://www.eaa.org/en/eaa/aviation-edu ... tal-basics would be beneficial for someone like myself who's never but anything like this before. I'm assuming a lot of that will carry over to building a Panther/Cougar... thoughts?
