When there are no torques stated, you should always refer to the FAA AC43.13-1B Chapter 7. While the bolts in the wing are mainly in shear, the nuts we used are designed to take tension loads also. This makes a difference in the torque value. With AN365 nuts and MS21042 nuts, you can use the tension list. The smaller MS21083 nuts should only be used with shear torque values

Attached is the page from the AC43.13-1B. This document is one of the best things the FAA ever put out, and is a bible for A&P's everywhere.

Are the Jet Nuts used with the AN3 bolts on the main spars to be torqued to any specific values or just tightend 'firmly'?
