I doubt the front leading edge need to be bent. It is a tight fit and the top skin need to be gently, uniformly but firmly pressed down for fitting and rivetting — see the BM for the suggested method. I simply put 3 8’ 2x4s on top of the skin and it gave me enough downforce. I do not recall it causing me too much trouble.

Has anyone put more bend in their horizontal tail leading edges? It seem to me like the foward rivet in the nose ribs have a lot of upward force on them to get the skin to pull down tight. If you did, how did you do it?
