Great idea, Glenn. I took it to heart and made a centering jig of my own based on your design. Super-simple to make if you have a 1" Forstner bit and a couple of small clamps.

Centering Stick
To make it easier on myself to center the stick and align the ailerons, I made this simple jig out of some scrap wood. Any time I need to center the stick and have the ailerons in their neutral position (like when aligning the flaps to the ailerons), I just have to remount the jig (it takes about 30 seconds). A huge time saver, and dead on accurate.
