This assembly guide was written by the team at Sport Performance Aviation LLC, specifically for their Engine in a Box customers (EIB). The Engine in a Box option was introduced to the market in early 2017, by SPA. This is a full size, full color, 220 page easy to follow manual with step by step instructions on how to assemble your engine. This manual includes what lubricants to use where, what tools are needed, what torque pattern and specs and a handy check box system to make sure you don’t miss a step. It also includes running and maintenance requirements.
The EIB kit comes in 3 displacement options: The 2775 CC, 3000 CC (3.0L) and the 3300 CC (3.3L). The kit includes all parts to assemble the engine.
This manual can be used by other builders, outside of the EIB program. Please note that this manual is specifically designed to work with FlyCorvair.com and SPA parts. It will not work with any other manufacturers’ parts, and is not designed for this. This manual is to be used in conjunction with the FlyCorvair.com Conversion Manual (both are required for a build) and the GM Corvair Shop Manual. The information in this manual supersedes the information in the GM Shop Manual.
