So we are finally on our way to Oshkosh as I write this. Oshkosh 2013 here we come! We are all very excited about being at Oshkosh again this year. The kids absolutely love Oshkosh and have been not so patiently waiting to “get there already!”
So the last few weeks have been consumed with getting the Panther back in the air and getting tail kits ready.
We have been busting our tails so much we were starting to get a little punchy. However we had a surprise visit from Dan’s amazing sister Lisa. She made us take a step back, if even for an hour, to celebrate how far we have come and how much we love this project! Lisa is a web producer for the NFL, a published novelist, a movie screen writer and a co-director, and one of the most thoughtful people I know. She surprised us with a delicious home made dinner, served on a Panther red plates, red napkins and a red table cloth – topped off by red and black balloons, champagne for the adults and sparkling grape juice for the kiddos.
And as if that weren’t enough she had the Panther printed on a cake!
Thank you so much Lisa for being so thoughtful and celebrating with us!
Now we are packed up in our RV, with the beautiful Panther tucked away in her cozy cave right behind us. We are headed north west – Brodhead bound with final destination of Oshkosh on Saturday evening.
Here is a shot of the RV/Panther rig at the very expensive gas station fuel stop.
And a shot of Dan peeking in to make sure pretty kitty is all cozy.
For the long road trip we decided since the wings come off so easily with one bolt the Panther would travel better and we could pack the trailer better if the wings were strapped to the walls. So Dan and Paul built some simple foam lined saddles and brackets.
Snug as a bug in a rug!
We are traveling up with Paul, Vern, William and Grace Wynne and Uncle Bob and Aunt Carolyn.
Here is a shot of Paul’s current crew.
More updates as we progress north west! Tailwinds,
Team Panther
