Fuel Valve Instructions

SPA offers an attractive and cost effective fuel valve designed to mount in the fuselage.  There is a version of the valve available with a return line for those using fuel injected engines.  

General.  Try to keep the valve clean during installation.  Use eg. ‘Tite seal’, not too much, when fitting the special adapters into the valve and support them with a spanner when fitting elbows, etc.

Use ‘loctite’ on the screws for the final fitting, the valve should last the life of the aeroplane and we do not want anything loose.

The valve is supplied loose assembled to avoid parts going missing in transit.

Please note the threads in the valve body are for ORB (O-ring bore) style fittings.  Do not use NPT (National Pipe Threads).

The valve is supplied with -6 ORB to AN-6 male flare adapters.  

Use a thin coat of EZ Turn Fuel Resistant Lubricant (Aircraft Spruce 09-00306) on the threads and O-ring of the fitting.  Then torque to 5 – 7 Ft. Lbs.
