Note - Before test fitting, inspect the tank and ensure no excess sealant will prevent the tank from mating to the wing correctly.
1. With the wing in the vertical position test fit the fuel tank. It should slide back fully so that it fits tightly against the outboard leading edge skin. The outer end should line up with the inner aft skin. If the tank will not move far enough out board on the wing, place it as far out board as you can with it still resting tight against the outer leading edge skin. You will correct the lateral position in later steps.
Note: If P3501-P3504 attach angles were installed in previous steps you may need to remove them so the tank can fit in proper position see step 7 and photos
Note: It is likely that the tank will not slide outboard due to excess sealant on the tank skin outboard of the outer tank rib. Do not attempt to remove excess sealant as you may cause a leak. See step 4-5
2. Measure from the aft side of the inner wing skin to the aft side of FT skin. Make this distance the same on the inboard and outboard end of tank and clamp in place.
3. Use a long straight edge and lay across the tank/ wing at leading edge and several other locations to verify the tank is aligned on wing properly
4. If the tank needs to move out board to align with aft wing skin, measure how much and take note (should be less than ΒΌ inch)
