MS24693 fully threaded screws, 100 degree countersunk head

 

These screws are typically for non-structural usage because they are fully threaded and are available in both fine and course thread.  You must use a table to find out dash number for diameter and length.

 

Options:        ‘A’ is Anodized Aluminum screw

         ‘B’ is Uncoated Brass screw

         ‘BB’ Black Brass screw

         ‘C’ is Stainless steel

         ‘S’ is Carbon steel

Available in sizes from #4 to 3/8”

Current Spec: NASM 24693 (still uses MS24693 for part number)

These screws are typically for structural usage because they have an unthreaded shank.  You must use a table to find out dash number for diameter and length.

Typically used for mounting instruments as they are black coated and are non-magnetic.  MS35214 are coarse thread, MS35215 are fine thread.

AN525 WASHER HEAD SCREWS

These screws are the same strength as AN3, AN4 bolts but have a smaller head philips head that makes it more attractive for exterior use through the skin.  Available in #8 coarse, #10 fine and ¼” fine thread.  They also have a non-threaded shank.

Options:         ‘-‘ between first and second dash numbers is for slotted screws

         ‘R’ between first and second dash numbers is for Phillips head

Current spec: NASM 525 (still uses AN525 for part number)

Example:        AN525-10R16 is a 1” long 10-32 screw with Phillips head

AN525-10-16 is a 1” long 10-32 screw with slotted head

 

AN526C, MS51957, MS51958 Stainless steel pan head screws

 

Fully threaded stainless steel screws.  AN526C is no longer valid, and in most cases a commercial screw (aka hardware store) has been substituted.  MS51957 is coarse thread, MS51958 is fine thread and have to meet the mil-spec requirements.

 

Options:        ‘R’ in AN526 number is Phillips head

         No code after dash number is 300 stainless

         ‘L’ after dash number is 316 stainless

         ‘B’ after dash number black oxide
