I was just going by what Kevin Eldredge, the designer of the engine said:

"A 320LT has a lightened 320 case, 235 crank, rods and pistons. To maintain reliability we will limit the hp by lowering the compression. When compared to the 233 and rotax 145hp is still substantially higher. Check out our latest price list on the contact page of our website, the price of the 320LT is very attractive compared to competitors."

Also ghosting eye said I could run on fuel as low as 80 octane.

Thats out of my current price range but it would be fun to have. 228lbs plus 11lbs (?) for the constant speed prop setup? That would be a screamer!

The engine is anything but overdriven.

Photos here: http://www.vansairforce.com/community/s ... stcount=13

Lightened 320 case with 235 crank, rods and pistons. Haven't figured out how they do that and keep the displacement at 320 CI.

Engine specs: http://www.titanengine.com/wp-content/u ... rd_320.pdf

Note that max rpm is down from the normal 2700 to 2500 rpm, and compression ratio is 6.8:1. The engine is designed to run on 91 octane auto fuel. Don't know if the 229 lb weight is ready to hang and run.

Base price is $23,900. Add about 3K more for an ignition system.

I'm no pro builder or flyer but how reliable are these overdriven motors?

Just thought some folks might be interested as this looks like it would be a prefect engine for the Panther. Lightweight, 145hp and can burn auto gas. Supposedly will be offered for less money than a 233.
