1.First you will need to remove the “mold lip” around the top perimeter of the canopy skirt where the bubble meets the skirt. We use a 90° degree “die grinder” with a 2 inch twist-loc sand paper disc. You can carefully taper the inside so the skirt is thinned at the edge for a nice appearance. Sand the edge with a block as needed for a smooth profile along this edge. The top center will need the most attention due the overlapping layups.
2.Smooth/blend the center aft (top) and forward areas where the layups overlap again we use the 90° die grinder and 2 inch twist loc disc as well as a sanding block as needed.
3.Scuff the entire inside of the canopy skirt with a rough piece of sand paper, something like 80 grit. This will give the tape and adhesive something to stick to.
