Throttle Quadrant

Scroll Prev Top Next More

1. The throttle quadrant we chose is P/N 05-15950 homebuilders 2 lever throttle quadrant model 4 from Aircraft Spruce.  A bracket has been welded in position for the quadrant, but early aircraft may have to be trimmed to fit around the anchor nut as shown below.

2. Take some pictures of the throttle quadrant so it can be reassembled properly.  Take particular not of the number and type of washers between the wood blocks.  Mark the wood blocks so you know where and how they fit together.

3.  Remove blocks of wood and place back together in order with some bolts.

4.  We need to sand a recess into the blocks to allow more room for the throttle and mixture cable clevises.  The top of a belt sander works well.

5.  The recess only needs to be about a ¼” deep.

6.  Reassemble and mount the throttle quadrant using 3 AN3-17A bolts (longer than original) and 4 new MS21083N3 nuts.  Make sure the washers between the wood blocks are back in the same position as received.
