Verifying Straightness

Formed parts need to be checked for straightness and tweaked accordingly.  An example would be the flange on a channel or checking a rib for a “banana” bow.  The part should lay flat and the flange angle needs to be verified according to the plans.  Ribs and channel flanges can be tweaked manually by pressing with your hands or a wooden block.  Ribs can be tweaked for bow using fluting pliers as needed.  See the link below for a video on using fluting pliers to get a bow out of a rib.
