1. Slide the elevator down stop (P6512) into position under rear flange of horizontal stabilizer.
2. Set the elevator to maximum down deflection you want 20 degrees. If you can get more than 20 degrees, set the elevator at 20 degrees to set the stop in the next step. (remember to set angle finder to 0 at neutral position first.)
3. With the elevator set to 20 degrees down, use some shims to place between rear tail cone bulkhead and stop. You will need to remove the horizontal stabilizer to drill mounting holes, this will help position the stop again.
4. Remove horizontal stabilizer, and reposition stop with shims found in previous step. Center stop between the edges of upper longeron, and transfer drill two 3/16” holes into the upper longerons.
4. Bolt down stop into position using 2 AN3-5A bolts.
5. Reinstall Horizontal stabilizer and elevators again. Check maximum down deflection of the elevators. File edge of down stop if necessary to get 20 degrees.
