Wing Fold Tripod (Optional)

The wing fold tripod and slider tube can be omitted if you do not want folding wings.

1. This view shows the hardware for attaching the tripod to the fuselage.

2. A long extension with a 7/16” socket works well for holding the bolt in the large center tube.

3.  2 of the holes for the tripod should have been transfer drilled into the skin already.  Attach the tripod to these holes using hardware shown.  Drill a 3/16” hole through the forward lower attach point into the steel plate mounted on the fuselage in this area

4. Mark for a hole through the wingfold tripod 9 ¼” from the fuselage skin.  Hole should be approximately vertical when the fuselage is level.  Drill a ¼” hole completely through the tube.  While shown on the aircraft, this can be done off the aircraft also.

5. Cut the end of the tube off as shown.  The end should have a radius in order to allow the wing fold U-joint to swivel.
